Agility

What is Agility?

Agility is a sport in which a handler directs a dog through an obstacle course in a race for both time and accuracy.

An agility course consists of a set of obstacles, laid out by an agility judge with numbers indicating the order in which the dog must complete the obstacles. Courses are complicated enough that a dog could not complete them correctly without human direction.

There are seven levels of Agility classes at shows and dogs start in the basic Grade 1 - Elementary Class. By gaining a series of first prizes, dogs qualify through to Grade 7 - Advanced, the highest and most difficult.
